New AI Gateway: Free AI Learning for Everyone
At Framework’s Digital Inclusion Project, we’re always looking for ways to make sure the people we work with have access to the right digital tools, skills, and confidence. That’s why we’re excited to share a brand-new resource from our partners at Good Things Foundation: the AI Gateway.
Launched in September 2025 with support from Accenture, the AI Gateway is a free, interactive learning platform designed to help people understand artificial intelligence (AI) and how it’s already shaping our daily lives.

Why this matters
AI is changing how we live, work, and connect – but many people feel unsure, or even fearful, about it. Without the right support, this “AI confidence gap” could mean people avoid using online services altogether, from banking and healthcare to vital public services.
The AI Gateway is designed to break down those barriers. It’s about making AI accessible, safe, and understandable for everyone – not just tech experts.
What makes the AI Gateway different?
Good Things Foundation has worked with communities across the UK to make sure this resource is truly inclusive:
- Free, open and accessible – no paywalls, no long sign-up process, and no jargon.
- Bitesize, interactive activities – breaking down complex ideas into simple, engaging steps.
- Confident and responsible – guidance not just on how to use AI, but also when to use it – and when not to.
- Community-shaped – built with input from the National Digital Inclusion Network, including projects like ours.
As Mary Booth, Digital Services Manager at Good Things Foundation, explains:
“The AI Gateway has been carefully designed to be a supportive first step, avoiding barriers for people who are often excluded from digital opportunities. It’s completely free, immediately accessible, and built on simplicity – no lengthy sign-up, no confusing technical language. We’re giving people the confidence to take their first steps with AI, ensuring no one is left behind.”

A step towards global digital inclusion
The AI Gateway isn’t just a UK project – it’s part of a wider movement to ensure AI benefits everyone, not just a few.
Good Things Foundation is calling on government to embed digital inclusion across every department and to link the UK’s AI Action Plan directly to the Digital Inclusion Action Plan. Only by doing this can we ensure that trust, fairness, and accessibility remain at the heart of our digital future.
How this supports Framework’s work
At Framework, we know that digital skills are essential for inclusion, confidence, and independence. The launch of the AI Gateway gives us – and the communities we support – a practical, welcoming way to start exploring AI safely.
We’ll be using this resource as part of our digital inclusion sessions, and we encourage anyone curious about AI to give it a try.
