2023 Consumer Digital Index shows big improvement in Essential Digital Skills for Life

Heading in the right direction, but much more still to do

For the past 8 years Lloyd’s Bank have published the Consumer Digital index. This shows how the UK population is doing with tacking digital exclusion. At Framework, the Digital Inclusion project is about giving people the skills and confidence to manage their everyday lives. The good news this year is that over nine in ten UK adults have Essential Digital Skills for Life 48.8 million (92%), have the digital skills needed to thrive in a digital society. This is 2.3 million more people than 2022.

This still means that many people are digitally excluded and we are doing everything we can to ensure all Framework service users have the opportunities to improve their digital skills
